The Making of A Game Night

Hello everyone! I hope you all are doing well! I have been quite busy witheverything going on from homeschooling, being a dance teacher to my daughter, keeping my businesses up, etc.  Oh and still in school, so I have that going.  Let me tell you that I have been exhausted.  So exhausted, that I have to take naps just to keep my eyes open for the rest of the day.  However, it is good sometimes to keep busy, even though it gets you tired. I was thinking though….what would be a good way to end some boredom throughout these quarantine days and beneficial to everyone, game nights!

Whether it’s with your own families or with co-workers or with friends, it’s always a great outlet to dust off a board game (or card game) and play. I love it when I talk about board games and game nights because it’s one of my favorite past times. I mean both my husband and I have hosted multiple game nights with some of my husband’s co-workers, who is turning into our friends, friends, family, etc.

The making of it is actually pretty easy. We decided that we would start our game night in the afternoon, so both my husband and I cooked a dish and our friends/family would bring a side, dessert, or drink. Then, we would all sit down, eat, and start playing.

We have also started a game of playing Dungeons and Dragons with one of my husband’s co-workers being our dungeon master. On those days, which is about once a month, he cooks a main dish and we all cook sides, desserts, or drinks. However, as it turns out, we decided for Dungeons and Dragons day, we will go to one location and then for regular game day, we will rotate on hosts. So, in the end, it’s a win-win situation, we get to play games, talk with friends, and we get to spend the day with our daughter as well. By that, I mean, our daughter plays with us.  So, all in all, the whole family can be brought in and have fun!

It is the most simple and easy steps to make for a great game night/day. First, ask your friends or co-workers if they would like to set up a game night. Second, plan on a day and time and figure out who wants to host. Third, have a great time! Here are some games that I recommend for game nights/day:

  1. Exploding Kittens
  2. Ticket to Ride
  3. Elder Sign
  4. Joking Hazard
  5. Villainous
  6. Pandemic

And, here are some family friendly games that I would recommend:

  1. Go Fish
  2. Old Maid
  3. Eye Found It!-Disney Version
  4. Dominoes
  5. Candy Land
  6. Shark Bite

If you have a game day or game night, how do you plan? What do you play? I would love to know, so comment below. As I am thinking of homeschooling, maybe I can set up a game day for the family while homeschooling…hmmmm. Well, that is it for now on this post, but I am working hard on the next post and I am working on some really neat things in my shop. If you haven’t already checked it out, I am thinking of doing a pre-order of a d20 dice. Let me what you think below.  As always, I hope you all have a great weekend and I will see you in the next post!
