I can’t believe it is September already and I am preparing for Hurricane Florence at this moment (or Tropical Storm Florence).  So, I thought what better way to spend the time than sharing one of my favorite desserts of all time.  Can you guess it??  It’s Reese’s or just chocolate and peanut butter.  The perfect marriage and it’s even better because you made it, so you know the ingredients going in.  And, I also found the perfect mold since it is getting closer to fall…pumpkins!  I found this amazing find at Target and it was only $3.  Can you believe it?  I was in shock because it turned out to be a really good mold, a silicone pumpkin mold.

Anyways,  I know that I shouldn’t go overboard with the sweets because of my diet and exercise, but sometimes, with just being a mom, you gotta say f it and eat the sugary stuff.  And I mean pig out, so that way your child and husband doesn’t barge in and steal every little crumb from you.  That has happened to me on several occasions, I am happy that they are happy, but man…sometimes I just want to yell and say, “Get out, this is mine, my precious,” all while stroking the delicate piece of candy.

So, now onto the main attraction, which is the recipe for the simple and easy treat, enjoy!

Easy DIY Chocolate and Peanut Butter Pumpkins

Ingredients:

1 silicone pumpkin mold (I found mine at Target, in the $1 bin, and got this for $3)

12 oz of chocolate chips (this can be any chocolate you like)

About 1 cup of peanut butter

About 1/2 cup of powdered sugar

Directions:

  1. Mix both the peanut butter and powdered sugar until it looks like some Reese heaven goodness.
  2. Start melting the chocolate in a microwave safe bowl in 30 second intervals and stirring in between.  The chocolate should be very smooth.
  3. Now it is time to assemble the pumpkin treats.  First, you will need to put 1 tablespoon of melted chocolate and pour it into the mold.  It should cover up the bottom. Second, start rolling about 1/2 tablespoon to 1 tablespoon into your hand (the size depends on what your preferences are).  Finally, pour another tablespoon of melted chocolate on top of the peanut butter, making it uniformed and covered.
  4. Then, put them into the fridge for about an hour and so.  And, you will have your homemade treats.

Like I said, you will probably devour these or hide with them in a little dark corner to hide from everyone.  Also, if you want other ideas on how to use this pumpkin mold, then check out my fellow mom blogger at A Little Knick A Little Knack!  She made pumpkin rice krispy treats and they look so yummy!  I am trying that next!  You can check out her post here.

That is all for now and I hope you enjoy this treat!  For everyone going through the hurricane, please be safe!  As always, have a great weekend and I will see you in the next post!
